Justin Francis will soon get the opportunity to test a Formula Ford at Winton Raceway.

Brian Francis, father of Justin, has sent in the following pictures and quote.

Justin was at Sonic Motorsport today to get a seat fitting, pedal box, belts etc for a Formula Ford test day at Winton next Tuesday in Cameron Waters 2011 Australian championship winning Mygale Formula Ford.

Formula SAE-A Cars Practicing At Oakleigh

A note to all OGKRC members using the track during the coming week.

There will be 3 Formula SAE-A cars practicing at Oakleigh in the coming week. This due to the Asia Pacific region Championship being held at Werribee over the weekend of the 17^th and 18^th of December.

Please be patient with them as they go through their drills.

VKA Presentation And Awards Night 2011

The Golden Power Series & All Star Series trophies will be awarded at the VKA presentation night on Saturday 10th December 2011 at 7.30pm. The event is being held at the Taylors Lakes Hotel/Motel.

Working Bee Wednesday December 7 2011 Helpers Needed

The club is holding a working bee Wednesday, December 7, starting at 5.30pm. The track will be closed for normal use during the working bee.

Working bee co-ordinator Steve Carless wishes to thank everyone who helped out at this weeks working bee.

Thank you to everyone who helped out last night. It was a great effort and many hands made light work. Even with poor weather we had one of our best turn outs ever, it was great.

This week Steve would like some helpers to finish clearing demolition rubbish from the new canteen area and a general tidy up around the track.

A BBQ dinner will be provided for all helpers.

Please come along, lend a hand, and help out your club.

From The President Regarding November Club Day

Club President Adam Bourke wishes to inform club members that the November club day races which were washed out last Saturday, will not be rescheduled to another date. The event could not be rescheduled as there weren’t any available weekends before Christmas.

The championship points for the class driver of the year, will be as at the end of September club day races. The final points tallies are available for all to view on mylaps.com.

Presentation lunch will be held on Sunday December 11 and will be at the Mulgrave Country Club. Tickets cost $30 for Adults, and $15 for children under 12. The function starts at 12pm. Please e-mail Adam to book your tickets.

Junior Top Guns Double Header January 2012

The Oakleigh Go Kart Racing Club is preparing to once again hold the annual premier Juniors only kart racing event early in the 2012 racing calendar.

Due to the huge success of last years back to back races, held on a Friday and Saturday during the January school holidays, this same format will once again be used. The 2012 Junior Top Guns events will be raced on Friday & Saturday, January 20 & 21, 2012.

The Friday and Saturday races are treated as separate race meetings, with prizes given out for each event. Series prizes will be awarded to the competitors with highest accumulated points from both racing days. To be eligible for series prizes, you must race both events.

Practice for these not to be missed events will be held from 12pm to 4pm on both days and racing will start around 5pm. There will also be one night practice evening held on Saturday January 14.

Junior Racing Development, Australia’s leading Formula Vee racing team is once again showing its support to future stars of Australian motor sport. For the third year running, JRD is sponsoring Australia’s leading junior karting event, and are putting up the fantastic prize of a test in one of the teams championship winning Sabre 02’s.

This year’s selection process is different to previous years. All competitors who will be 15 years of age at June 30 2012 are invited to enter. To be eligible, interested competitors must pre-register via the JRD web site juniorracing.com.au and compete at the two race meetings. Registrations are open so head to the teams site and complete the registration form.

DPE and OGKRC will be giving away:
