To all Members,
As this will be my last notice to you all as President of the OGKRC I would like to thank a few people.
Number 1 is John Chapman. He joined the committee around 2002 and has been with me for the whole journey. He has been a committee member, secretary and Vice President. He has been to nearly every working bee, or down cleaning on his own. He is now a Steward on club days. He is also standing down from the committee. I would like to thank John for all his efforts and also as a true friend I have made in karting along with so many others.
To Steve Carless who is also standing down but has put in a big effort over the short time he has been on the committee and at the club.
To the committees I have worked with over the years, you have all been great and a real pleasure to work with. To the members, you need to realize what a job these guys do and you need to appreciate and support them, but mostly, you need to stand up and help them.
To all the Volunteers who have made my job easy and made the OGKRC club the best in the business, there are still clubs that come to us for advice and model themselves on us, a really big thank you.
If you see John and Steve make sure you thank them personally because without them and the volunteers you guys would not be able to race.
I wish the new committee the best as these will be great times. With the new karting look and rules it will be a challenge, but I know that the people that are taking over will get it right.
To all the members, old and new, thank you for your support. Please continue on in karting as you will meet and make great friendships as I have.
Now for some notes and reminders:
- On Tuesday the 16th at 7 30pm we are having our clubs AGM it would be great if you could all attend and thank the outgoing committee and welcome the new committee. Just on that at the moment we are short for nominations so please if you feel you can contribute we can take nominations on the night.
- Club day this month is on Sunday the 28th of September.
- Saturday 11th of October is Seniors Top Guns
- Class titles are on the last Weekend of October.
