Class Titles November 25-26 2017

The OGKRC Class Titles, the last club race event of the year is on this weekend. There will be a free spit roast on Saturday evening and some of our clubs former National Champions will be attending as special guests.

Don’t forget we will also have the traditional Ladies and Mechanics race on Sunday. If you’re 15 years of age or over and can borrow a kart and some safety gear, you can get out there and run a few laps for your (and our) entertainment.

Please note that this event is open to OGKRC members only.

Kingston Cup 2017


The Kingston Cup is happening this weekend. Practice is all day Saturday and racing on Sunday.

If you missed pre-entries, you can still enter on the day.

We hope to see as many karters as possible.

Vale Don Waters

The Oakleigh Go Kart Racing Club sadly advises the passing of one of our most well known and respected members.

Mr Don Waters, life member of the Oakleigh Go Kart Racing Club passed away on Saturday 4/11/2017, aged 81.

For over 35 years, Don spent countless hours at the club, helping to run race events as an official (including clerk of course), the general running and maintenance of the club, and assisting club members to learn the challenging OGKRC track layout.

General Meeting November 14 2017

The next Club General Meeting will be on Tuesday November 14 2017, at 7.30 pm in the club rooms. This is a forum where you as members can come and ask questions of the committee, ask questions about the Club, and hear what is happening around the Club.

If you have anything you would like discussed at the November General Meeting please email either David Bell (, Sam Sera ( or Vern Kranz ( and we will have it included in the agenda.

There will be an opportunity to bring up other items on the night when we get to the General Business section of the meeting, but if you know of something please let us know in advance.

The Griffiths Report September Club Day 2017

September Club Day at Oakleigh began with a downpour before Qualifying, then sunshine, then it blew up a gale, then more rain – why would you live anywhere else but Melbourne in spring?

Andrew Sotiropoulos and Alexander Grutteria shared the wins in the Heats and started off the front row for the Finals, Matthew Duncan and Nicholas Flodstrom behind them, but Sotiropoulos took off at the start and was never headed.
